Placement Testing

Placement Testing Information
Introduction. Students take the placement exam shortly after being admitted. The test is completed before students register for courses. The results of this test are used to determine course and prerequisite placements. Placement testing is required of full-time and part-time degree-seeking students, visiting high school, some visiting college students, and non-degree seeking students upon completion of 12 credit hours.

Purpose. The placement test assesses a student’s skill levels in reading, composition, and mathematics. All students are required to take the placement test or validate satisfactory completion of prerequisites before registering for mathematics courses, English courses, or courses with a prerequisite of RDG 080.
