WCCC to hold Frosty 5K Run/Walk

            YOUNGWOOD, PA - Westmoreland County Community College is sponsoring the Frosty 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m., Sunday, February 28 at the Youngwood campus.

 

            The race is open to serious and amateur runners and walkers of all ages.  Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. in the Founders Hall cafeteria.  The race will start at 9 a.m.

 

            Awards for runners will be given to the top three male and female finishers overall and in each designated age group which range from age 9 and under to 60 and older.  The first WCCC student finisher of the run will also receive a prize. 

 

For walkers, awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers overall and the first two in each age group which are the same as the runner's categories.  Awards will be presented immediately following the race.  There will be two drawings for $100 Walmart gift cards.  Winners must be present to win.

 

            The entrance fee is $17 for those registering by February 17 and $20 for registrations received after that date, including race day.  Short sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to all participants who preregister by February 17.  The entry fee for individuals not wanting a T-shirt is $12.

 

            Proceeds from the Frosty Five will benefit the WCCC Fitness Center.
